Dr. J. Lub is a principal scientist at Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1985 from The University of Amsterdam and is currently working with a small group on organic synthesis and polymer synthesis. The materials that are designed and synthesized find application in the electronic industry such as liquid crystal based optical components or components for batteries. Recently, he also started projects in the field of medicinal chemistry. He is married and has two daughters.
