CHETAH: Predict Thermochemical Properties and "Reactive Chemicals" Hazards

A safety tool compatible with ChemDraw and ChemBioDraw

Author: David Israel Rodríguez Zárate

Issue: 21.3

One of the main concerns in today's research and industrial production is of course, safety. At the late XIX Century the engineers and chemists from the Pennsylvania Railroad formed ASTM, known at that time as the American Section of the International Association for Testing and Materials and has been known as ASTM International since 2001. Since then, it has developed around 12,000 Standards around the globe and of course, safety enhancement has always been one of the top priorities.

In the very early stages of the designing process, CHETAH® can help you to evaluate potential chemical hazards and thermochemical properties based in the molecular composition of reagents. This is very important when evaluating new projects because experimentally determined thermochemical data is normally not available for a given mixture of components or large new polymers. In this way, you can make hundreds of possible simulations before actually going to the lab .....
