MY ROLE AS project leader in the medicinal chemistry group requires liaising with local and international clients all the way through to implementation of synthesis and delivery of the end products. Such work involves data transfer to and from the client, the format and origin of which varies substantially. At Mimotopes, several software packages are employed to facilitate and track synthesis especially projects involving combinatorial libraries.

I have used CambridgeSoft products all my working life and currently Mimotopes runs older versions of ChemDraw, Chem3D and ChemFinder. Many features of this product suite are utilized on a daily basis by the medicinal chemistry group; therefore the various improvements found in this latest ChemOffice Ultra version were eagerly anticipated and tested.

ChemDraw Ultra 8.0

At Mimotopes, the default drawing package is ISIS/Draw, however chemists have relied on the additional features of ChemDraw for several years. ChemDraw 8.0 behaves just like older .....
