So, what's so great about HotKeys? The best thing is the way they save time. Not having to change tools to label an atom or to change a bond allows for quicker drawing. Not having to change tools also reduces mouse movement. Many workers who use computers all day suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. Extensive "mousing" can get quite painful, so minimizing mouse movement by using HotKeys brings welcome relief. The default HotKeys are logical and easy to learn. You can modify the defaults easily with Notepad. All of this adds up to a significant usability bonus.
